Massive police raids on suspected protestors in Minneapolis
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/08/30/police_raids/

Last night, members of the St. Paul police department and the Ramsey County sheriff's department handcuffed, photographed and detained dozens of people meeting at a public venue to plan a demonstration, charging them with no crime other than "fire code violations," and early this morning, the Sheriff's department sent teams of officers into at least four Minneapolis area homes where suspected protesters were staying.

Read the whole article. Holy crap.

Unfortunately today there was acts of vandalism and property destruction committed by protesters, so now they'll crutch on that to justify the obviously excessive raids.

All the while it never occurring to them that kicking in doors and holding people planning peaceful demonstrations at gunpoint might provoke them.

Things like this won't end until we demilitarize the police. As long as they equate "liberal" with "commie pinko enemy" it'll just get worse and worse.
