Its been a very gun-themed day. It started with a conversation about guns in my Self Defense class. There's a pretty opinionated girl in that class I got into a small debate with. It was over Kennesaw's law that each household must have a gun. She thought that having the law violated the 2nd amendment, I thought it was a fascinating idea that I appreciate and if it was something you didn't approve of... don't live in the city limits. She didn't change her opinion, nor did I change mine, but it was a neat prelude. I came back to the commuter computer lab and found on Facebook the concealedcampus.com facebook group, since neveragain1369 joined it. I of course, joined immediately. :) But that got me to thinking... isn't it a little hypocritical to participate without actually having a CCW or gun? Maybe, but I like the idea. And, its pushing me to take my "learn to use firearms" resolution from the year before last more seriously. Hopefully I will have time to do some more learning before the date. After that, Jessie linked me some Georgia legislation that may actually change the gun free zone of colleges and universities! http://www.legis.ga.gov/legis/2007_08/search/hb915.htmAnd then throwingstardna posted this: http://throwingstardna.livejournal.com/964255.htmlSo yeah. Guns. And someone quoted the Nancy Sinatra song in conversation tonight, too... "Bang bang, he shot me down..." http://arthurshall.com/x_2007_manly_firearms.shtmlTags: guns, politics, society
